Leopard Tanks in the Australian Army

The Leopard tank has been used by the Australian Army since 1977, when it was used to replace the British Centurion tank. More than 100 Leopard tanks were purchased at the time.

The Leopard tank has never seen overseas duty but has been a valuable training tool for the Australian Army. It has served Australia for 30 years before being de-commissioned in 2007. The Leopard tank was replaced by the Abrams tank.

According to sources within the Australian Army, The Leopard tank will go down in history as the best tank of its time.
